Question: by Richard
What is the reason for the existence of the Personal Choice Party? From a brief look at your webpage, you seem like Libertarians.

Answer: by Ken Larsen
Comparison between the Libertarian Party and the Personal Choice Party.

1. Platform:
Libertarian: Long booklet of detailed logic, spelling out the logical extension of the non-initiation of force principle to just about every issue imaginable.
Personal Choice: Two words: "Personal Choice." The meaning of "Personal Choice" is each member's personal choice.

2. Group think:
Libertarian: Hammer out detailed resolutions. Many Libertarians expect other Libertarians to adhere faithfully to every plank of the Party Platform.
Personal Choice: No group decisions on issues. Personal Choicers tolerate where they disagree so they can cooperate where they agree.

3. Results:
Libertarian: Look for points of disagreement so they can refine each other's beliefs with endless debating.
Personal Choice: Look for points of agreement so together they can affect positive change.

My philosophy is libertarian. My political strategy is Personal Choice. The Personal Choice Party could be considered similar to the Libertarian Party, but it is more inclusive. We have candidates who support polygamy, same sex marriage, Islam, atheism, Paganism, mass transit, gun rights, pot smoking, universal government health care, the war in Iraq and pacifism. We will have Ron Paul, Charles Jay, and, hopefully, Ralph Nader on our ballot for President at our State Convention, May 22. The Personal Choice Party is open to every interested sentient being, including libertarians. I only hope they will be tolerant of all the non-libertarian people and ideas they will encounter. I have said the Personal Choice Party is libertarianism in a libertarian package. There are no thought police. Differences are respected and tolerated. In the end, I suspect libertarians will find the Personal Choice Party a useful tool for libertarianism. If I am wrong, I will try something else.
