Dr. Larsen,

Do you know what the FTAA is designed to be? It is not really about free trade at all. It would be an economic union of 34 nations within North and South America that would create a government with its own currency, regulatory bodies, rules and taxation similar to the European Union. This new entity would impose many regulations and taxation on the United States to undermine and eliminate self-determination in many ways. Our freedoms would be greatly curtailed and liberties eroded severely. The proposed union is abominably wrong, and both Kerry and Bush support it. I hope you will very vocally oppose the USA signing on as a unit within the FTAA if you are elected governor.

According to your description, my oath to support the Constitution requires that I oppose FTAA any way I can. Besides, it sounds like a really dumb idea for America.
